Recently, the fifth shipment for YAWATA continuous casting project of NIPPON STEEL was made successfully. This shipment includes 1 ladle turret, 12 withdrawal and straightening units, 3 segments, which are all main units of the project.

This is the first and key overseas continuous casting project integrated with whole processes of design, welding, machining, assembling, etc. organized by DHHI, with a gross weight of 3000 tons or so for all the equipment to be manufactured. In the project, ladle turret is one of the key products, which is of flat-arm construction and uses totally two rotary units, with a carrying capacity of 360 tons for single arm. Over careful organization and concerted cooperation, joint inspection and acceptance is finally completed and approval from the supervisor of NIPPON STEEL is obtained. Up to now, totally 5 shipments have been made, with a cumulative weight of about 1200 tons of products shipped, and work on the subsequent products are being carried out in an orderly manner according to the schedule fixed by NIPPON STEEL.
