On July 7, over several rounds of negotiation, the export contract for supplying MAN-series 7G80 crankshaft was signed successfully between DHHI and STX Heavy Industry Co., Ltd.,South Korea, and the two parties agreed that the crankshaft will be delivered before the end of this year. 

The 7G80 crankshaft has currently two world records for the longest stroke and highest weight and is the high-end product in the field of marine crankshaft manufacturing and only the crankshaft company of DHHI is capable of manufacturing such crankshaft currently inChina. The 7G80 crankshaft will be installed on the diesel engine of 300,000t large oil tanker (VICC) that is manufactured by Daewoo Shipbuilding Company—one of the three major shipbuilding magnates of South Korea and owned by Maran Tankers—the world well-known Greek shipping company. Before, the “three major shipbuilding magnates” ofSouth Koreahad never given permission to use Chinese crankshaft. This time, the 7G80 crankshaft’s breaking through the old convention and entering the market of the world shipbuilding power ofSouth Koreafor the first time is mainly attributable to the technical superiority and delivery fulfillment capacity of DHHI. This also demonstrates that DHHI has firmly ranked among the world leading countries for crankshaft manufacturing and establishes the leading position of DHHI in the field of large crankshaft manufacturing inChina.

 
In recent years, DHHI has been strengthening the occupation of international market. Since 2008 when the S-series marine crankshaft entered the South Korean market, DHHI has successively supplied approx.40 pieces of various types of crankshafts covering S and K series for Doosan Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. and STX Group Corporation ofSouth Korea, with the contract value approaching 200 million yuan RMB. This time, the G-series marine crankshaft’s successful entering the South Korean market will further upgrade the brand popularity and industrial influence of DHHI.
